I remember that I was very impressed when I saw it for the first time... Pictures and scenography were pampered in the smallest details. These days, new movies coming to the cinema, do not have 'something' hidden in this film. I especially love in The Emigrants the soundtrack, it is one of the greatest movie soundtracks ever. So if you have not yet seen the revelation that the Erik Poppe served to us, turn on, look, listen and admire. The entrance song still gives me cold goosebumps. I loved this film from the first sight.

Based on the book by Vilhelm Moberg (published in 1949) depicting a few people emigrating from Sweden to the United States in the 1840 - early 1850.
